8 Quick Apply Full-time 6 hours ago Full Job Description ChromaScape is seeking a highly motivated Production Manager who can safely provide leadership, coaching and mentorship to the Milling Operators.
The Production Manager provides direction in the day-to-day production processes involved in the manufacture of product and to maintain efficient production rates within the facility.
The Production Manager would help support the vision, mission and guiding principles of the company as well as abide by all state and federal laws regarding safety while performing any procedure.
All associates and contract personnel must observe applicable Safety, Health, Quality and Environmental rules and OSHA guidelines.
Responsibilities for the Production Manager:
Prepare daily schedule to allocate resources to efficiently meet timely order fulfillment.
Provides coaching and training or oversees the training of operators.
When operators are assigned, the Supervisor plans, assigns and directs work; provides input into appraising performance or may be required to complete the formal appraisal process.
May have input into or act as the lead regarding rewarding and disciplining operators, addressing operator complaints and resolving operator problems.
Directs & assist in the weighing, blending, processing, and packaging of product in accordance with Work Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures, Quality guidelines and other relevant information.
Acts and/or directs others to act to minimize machine downtime, minimize production loss, and follow all job-related instructions with focus on batch runs & daily schedules.
Coordinates identified maintenance needs & schedules with Maintenance to ensure maximum daily productivity.
Works with Operations Manager & other operators to address problems/issues impacting the order fulfillment process.
Ensures consistent production of product through documented procedures and process conditions to meet or exceed yields, pounds per hour targets, first pass on quality & other key value indicators.
Assists with physical inventories and cycle counts and maintain efficient production rates.
Ensures that product loss factor is kept at an acceptable level through accurate record keeping, standard operating procedures and associate training.
Qualifications for the Production Manager:
Demonstrate ability to use Information Technology platforms effectively (MS Office Suite, Process Control, MRP, Timekeeping & Human Capital software, etc.
) 2-year degree preferred in business, engineering, manufacturing or other applicable field preferred along with 2 years demonstrated experience; -OR - four years' experience Project management skills preferred.
Demonstrated ability to read & interpret.
Ability to supervise and be a team leader.
Demonstrated knowledge of production procedures Experience with LEAN principals and application preferred.
Basic math skills Organizational and multi-tasking skills Physical/Environmental Demands for the Production Manager:
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear.
The associate occasionally is required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
The associate is frequently required to stand and walk.
The associate must frequently lift up to 55 pounds and manually move product.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
Mental and physical dexterity to facilitate machine operation and physical ability to obtain respirator clearance.
The noise level in the work environment is often loud.
